The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK government grant helping homeowners replace fossil fuel heating with low-carbon alternatives.
Grant amounts
- £7,500 — air source heat pump
- £7,500 — ground source heat pump
- £5,000 — biomass boiler
The grant is deducted from your installer's quote. No separate application needed.
Eligibility
- Own the property in England or Wales
- Replacing an existing fossil fuel system
- Valid EPC with no outstanding insulation recommendations
- Must use an MCS certified, BUS-registered installer
